On The Road Again

It is the peak of canning season! So many fun things to can. Come and join us at the gourmet kitchen in Alamo. Please contact The Kitchen to sign up for this class on July 24 at 11:00am.

The Watermelon Hot Sauce is great in tacos, on grilled pork or as a salsa with chips.
 
This is a chutney that has sweet, sour and spicy going on. Spicy Tomato Chutney can be used with lamb, grilled meats or chicken skewer . 
 
Lavender Ginger Pickled Blueberries can be used on pork or with goat cheese as an appetizer. These sweet berries have been transformed to a tart pickle with a beautiful under tone of lavender and ginger.

Some Very Yummy Classes

Here at ” The Farm” with All In A Jar, we some very yummy classes coming,

May 28 at 11:00am.

We will be making Puttanesca Pasta Sauce. This sauce has a lot going on with kalamata olives, capers, fresh oregano, and anchovies; it’s packed with layered flavors. Serve it with your favorite pasta shape, grilled fish, sautéed shrimp or steamed mussels.

Peach Bellini Drizzle is a cocktail-inspired dessert drizzle. Drizzle on Ice cream, Pound cake, Belgian Waffles or French toast. Think fancy syrup.

We will be sitting down for lunch, enjoying the Puttanesca sauce over some pasta with a salad adorned with one of All In A Jar condiment. We also will be making a pound cake to have with the Peach Bellini on top. You’ll go home with a jar from each recipe.

Next June 25 at 11:00am.

We will be making a yummy Apricot Chutney; this chutney has warm Indian spices that unfold through every bite. It can be served as a condiment with Indian meals, roasted meats, poultry and cheeses too.

Five-Spice Cherries has a Chinese-spiced flavor. This is wonderful used as a dessert topping. Think layers of brownie pieces, whipped cream and cherries on top.

You will go home with a jar from each recipe. We will be sitting down for lunch having grilled chicken with the Apricot chutney, salad with one of All In A Jar condiment and trifle-style dessert sundaes, layer bite-size brownie pieces, whipped cream and topped with Five Spice Cherries.

Next July 30 at 11:00am

We will be making Fire Roasted Chunky Tomato Salsa. This Roasted Chunky Salsa can be used with chips, eggs, tacos, or in a cheese quesadillas. Endless possibilities.

Apricot-Nectarine Pie Filling. Apricot pie is wonderful but add some nectarines and you have a pie that is just magical. You can use it to make a crisp, cobbler, put in crepes or on top your favorite ice cream.

You will be going home with a jar from each recipe. We will be sitting down for lunch enjoying tacos with the Fire Roasted Chunky Tomato Salsa, salad with one of All In A Jar condiment and Apricot-Nectarine Pie.

Happy New Years!

Well as you can imagine I’ve been very busy this Holiday Season
We had a house full of family, good food and much love.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season too.

Up coming class here in (Ione) Jan. 30, we will be making Vidalia Onion Conserve. This is an amazing appetizer waiting in a jar.
Also Sliced Apples with Black Pepper & Rosemary, which is wonderful with pork. We will be preparing our lunch around what we have canned.

The next class Feb. 6th  I will be back at Ace Hardware store “The Kitchen at Alamo Hardware” 3211 Danville Blvd Alamo phone 925.837.2420 ext.313
We will be making Raspberry Milk Chocolate Jam, Pickled Beets with Orange slices and Fermented Sauerkraut getting you ready for St Patrick Day in March. Call The Kitchen and make your reservation.

The next class will be Feb. 27 here in (Ione) we will be making Penny’s Cheesecake. This is an amazing cheesecake with no cream cheese. If you are a cheese lover, you need to come to this class! We will be making Ginger Pears to place on top of the cheesecake. We will have lunch and of course dessert.

The next class will be March 26 here in (Ione) we will be making Rosemary-Mint Jelly; very yummy on a rosemary biscuit or when served with lamb. Then a Vanilla Bean Caramel Apple Syrup. This is great on ice cream, in yogurt and on pancakes too.
