Ever since I planted my fig tree I have been dreaming about home-made Fig Newtons. Doesn’t that sound delicious. Well the fig tree is packed with figs. So my dream is about to come true. I have looked up many recipes and have come up with my own. Yes, I’m making my way. LOL For the next upcoming class here at “The Farm ” July 21st we will be making a fig jam that will turn into fig newtons. My red onions are ready to be created into something fabulous. How about some Red Onion Marmalade. This marmalade is wonderful as an appetizer with some cheese and crunchy French bread. It is great on a pork chop too.
This class will start with a snack from All In A Jar’s pantry. We will make the two recipes and fig newtons for our dessert. For lunch we will have a Thai Slaw. You will go home with a jar from each recipe and the printed out recipes.
There are a few spots left in this class. I hope to have you here at “The Farm ”

Fennel Onion Relish, This relish is crunchy and has a smooth scent of licorice. It is a great jar to have in the pantry. It can be a quick appetizer with some crackers and cheese or it is very yummy in a tunafish sandwich.
Coarse Ground Mustard, I love a good mustard on my sandwich. I make a few different ones, but this one is my go to. You can use it to make a wonderful salad dressing, put it on a warm pretzel or on pork roast.
Nutmeg Apple Conserve, A conserve is usually warm with spices, sweet with honey or sugars, and crunchy with nuts. It is delicious and you can use it in so many ways, in oatmeal, on crackers as an appetizer, or place on top of brie cheese wrapped with puff pastry and baked until golden brown and served with bread.
We have a few spots left. Come and join the fun.
See you in class

Here is what we will be making that day.
Cranberry Ketchup: is wonderful on a slice of roasted turkey, use it in a turkey sandwich or
a turkey burger. Great on turkey meatloaf too.
Zinfandel Wine Jelly: can be used as an appetizer with some hard cheese like Manchego cheese, it’s great with brie cheese also or as a dessert on ice cream or a tart with some cream cheese. I found my husband eating it in some yogurt.
Bourbon Honey Mustard: what more do I need to say. I love this on a grilled sausage, steak sandwich, or to make a salad dressing.
