Class is open in July

All In A Jar’s Class room

All In A Jar is so excited to have students back here at The Farm.

I have decided to add Thursday night 6:00 to 9:00 for the students

that can’t come on a Saturday. The same recipes will be offered as the

Saturday classes. The first class dates are July Thursday 15 and Saturday 17.

We will be making Peach Bourbon BBQ Sauce, Peach Raspberry Jam, Spicy

Pickled Tomatoes and Strawberry Lemon Fruit Leather. We will be using

a dehydrator. At the end of class we will be sitting down for a meal together.

I want to remind you that you can have a private class or if you have an abundance

of product from your garden I can help you with that.

Bye Bye 2020

I’m sure I’m not the only person happy to see 2020 end. This has been a hard year for the whole world.

Some families lost loved ones, some are still very sick, some have had financial problems, some have loss their dream job, some have loss homes and some have had their business closed not knowing if it will ever open again. There was the pandemic, black lives matter, fires and the Presidential election. I will be honest, it all got to me.

Moving forward to 2021. I’m going to change my tradition of making a gourmet meal on New Year’s Eve. This challenging year, 2020, is not worthy of a gourmet meal to end the year . Instead, I will make a gourmet meal January 1, 2021 to celebrate a new year and we will have black eye peas for good luck. Yes, we had them at the beginning of 2020 and some people would say they did not bring you good luck. Well, it is all on how you look at things. We did have some good luck. We got a new healthy grand daughter, we are healthy, our families are healthy and our home or families homes did not burn down.

Don’t get me wrong, this year has been very hard for me . I have missed so much time with my family , my husband’s family, friends and my students. I’m sure it has been hard for a lot of people.

What A Year!

I  realized this year the importance of what  All In A Jar  has been teaching since 2012, “The Art Of Preserving Food” . I have been working hard at having a well stocked pantry and freezer for years and it has paid off. I think I would have been lost without my pantry, freezer and garden. 

My garden was coming in strong at the beginning of 2020 and it was looking great for All In A Jar’s classes. The classes were booking up and I was going to be a guest Chef teaching at Marisolio Tasting Bar in Murphys. So I planted a big garden expecting to use all the produce for classes.

Well we all know what happened next. Everything was shut down including All In A Jar.

But the garden still came in strong. I was very busy with tomatoes, tomatillos, cucumbers, okra, melons, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. 

I have started my fall garden. So far I have planted garlic, onions, beets, turnips, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, Fava beans, Swiss chard, carrots, cabbage, kale, collard greens and a variety of lettuce. 

I’m looking forward to having classes again. I miss teaching and my students.
